About Goshen Post Inn

The Goshen Post Inn, established in 2020, is a historic former post office and general store built circa 1922, that offers a truly unique place to stay in Goshen, VA. The historic architecture has been preserved and the interior lovingly restored in the spirit of the time. The building has been updated with modern sustainable amenities such as energy saving light switches, LED lighting, and a zoned high efficiency heating and air conditioning system. 

The Goshen Post Inn features several beautiful pieces of original art from local and regional artists. Historic post office memorabilia is also on display. There are several movie props that were created and used in historical movies and TV series including Mercy Street, Turn: Washington's Spies, Lincoln, among others, filmed in Virginia. 

The Goshen Post Inn is located in the town of Goshen, a small town in Rockbridge County, Virginia. We are located on the Appalachian Waters Scenic Byway Route 39 and are five minutes to the Goshen Pass, which is Virginia's oldest state managed natural area.  Here you will be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.

From the Goshen Pass, guests can picnic, hike, swim or kayak at the covered picnic pavilion or from one of the many pull-offs along the Maury River.

It's the ideal place to stay in Rockbridge County, VA. From here you can experience the beauty of the Goshen Pass & explore the outdoors of the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests, Alleghany Highlands, Rockbridge, Bath and Augusta counties. 

Also, Goshen is centrally located to the cities of Lexington & Staunton and the towns of Warm Springs & Hot Springs. All being within approximately a thirty-minute drive.   

 The Goshen Post Inn has approximately 1,160 sq. ft. of living space, a 12x12 screened-in back porch and small private yard with outside dining table and chairs. The interior space includes a Great Room that measures 24'x40', a private bedroom with queen size bed, open concept kitchen with bar, and full bathroom including shower & tub.

The Great Room features a queen-size bed, large sofa, several comfy chairs, 50" TV, large dining room table that can accommodate up to six people comfortably, and a desk with dedicated workspace. We also offer free fiber optic internet and wi-fi.

The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator with freezer, sink, small stove/oven, bar with vintage 1950's barstools (from the former Cozy Corner Diner). There are also various cooking utensils, pots, pans, baking dishes, plates, bowls, glasses, cabinets, and wine rack.

The bedroom comes with a queen size bed, large dresser, nightstand, clothes rack, ironing board with iron and cubbies for storage. 

The guest(s) have access to the full residence and will be the only ones occupying the home during their stay.
